Smart Blinds · Motorised · Automated
Blinds that move at a button press, a phone tap or a word to Alexa — measured, installed and automated by Cur'tales.
Call them what you like — motorised blinds, motorized blinds (both spellings are correct), smart blinds, electric blinds, remote-control blinds or simply automatic blinds. The idea is the same: a quiet tubular motor inside the roller tube or headrail does the lifting, so a window you used to tug at with a chain now moves from a remote, a phone app, a schedule or a voice command.
Cur'tales has fitted windows across Hyderabad since 1998, and motorisation now features in most larger projects: double-height living rooms no hand can reach, offices where twelve blinds drop together at 4 pm, and bedrooms that wake on a schedule. Because we supply the blinds and motors as one system, fabric weight, tube size and torque are matched — the difference between a smart blind that glides for years and one that strains and burns out.
A proper motorised blind installation is four things — not just a motor in a tube.
A tubular motor sized to your blind's width and weight, hidden inside the tube or headrail — whisper-quiet, soft start-stop, precise memory of its limits.
Handheld multi-channel remotes, wall switches and app control with timers and scenes. Most homes run remote plus app; offices prefer one master wall switch.
Wired motors need a concealed 230V point; battery motors recharge like a phone. Planned before fabrication — no visible wire, nothing chased open after painting.
Commissioning decides success: limit programming, group pairing, app onboarding and a walkthrough so everyone at home can run the blinds from day one.
One decision shapes every project: how the motor gets its power — and whether your existing blinds can join in.
Powered from a concealed point — nothing to charge, ever. Right when walls are open during renovation, and for heavy, extra-wide blinds needing continuous torque. Plan the wiring before the false ceiling closes.
A rechargeable lithium motor sits inside the tube; no wiring, no civil work, no repainting. One charge runs months of daily use. The default answer for finished flats and rented homes.
Many existing roller and zebra blinds convert: we swap the chain for a motor in the same tube, keeping your fabric. We check tube, brackets and weight at the free visit — and say so honestly if a retrofit won't hold up.
Almost every blind we sell has a motorised version — these get automated most.
The natural first candidate: one fabric, one tube, one motor. Motorised roller blinds are the most affordable and reliable smart blinds — why offices and bedrooms standardise on them.
Motorisation suits zebra blinds beautifully — the motor stops at exact positions, so sheer and opaque bands align perfectly every time, something fingers on a chain never manage.
Motors for wooden blinds control slat tilt (open-close travel stays manual on most systems) — ideal for tall windows where reaching the tilt wand is the daily annoyance.
Vertical blinds take track motors that rotate and traverse the louvres; honeycomb cells pair well with quiet battery motors. Skylights are motor-only territory — see all types on our window blinds page.
This is where motorised becomes truly smart. With a Wi-Fi motor or a small bridge hub, your blinds appear inside the Alexa or Google Home app alongside your lights. Alexa blinds respond to "Alexa, close the bedroom blinds"; Google Home blinds answer "Hey Google, open the living room blinds halfway". Group them by room, build scenes, and schedule sunrise opens and 4 pm closes against the western sun.
We do the pairing, naming and scene setup at installation. If Wi-Fi drops, the handheld remote-control blinds work as before — radio control is independent of the internet. Automating curtains too? Our motorised curtain tracks run on the same ecosystems — one app, whole house.
The price has two layers: the blind per square foot — roller blinds from about ₹110 per sq ft, zebra from about ₹140 — plus motorisation quoted per window, varying with motor brand, width and control option. As a working rule, a typical motorised roller blind in Hyderabad works out from about ₹350 per sq ft including the motor; a Wi-Fi hub for voice control adds a one-time amount that serves the whole home.
Treat these as starting points, not quotes — electric blinds are priced on measured area and torque; the firm figure is a written, itemised quote after a free home visit. Worth knowing: motorising several blinds together usually costs less per window, because remotes, hubs and visits are shared.

As a working rule, motorised roller blinds start from about ₹350 per sq ft including the motor — the blind itself from about ₹110 per sq ft, plus motorisation quoted per window depending on motor brand, control type and size. Battery motors cost less to install than wired ones; voice-ready Wi-Fi hubs add a little more. The firm figure always comes after a free home measurement.
Often, yes. Roller and zebra blinds with standard tubes usually accept a retrofit tubular motor in place of the chain mechanism, and we assess venetian and vertical systems case by case during the free site visit. Where the tube or brackets won't take a motor safely, we'll tell you honestly and price a fresh motorised blind instead.
Yes. With a Wi-Fi motor or a small RF-to-Wi-Fi bridge, your blinds appear in the Alexa or Google Home app — so "Alexa, close the bedroom blinds" just works. You can group blinds by room, set sunrise and sunset schedules, and still use the handheld remote or the app whenever you prefer.
