The hardware behind a great curtain matters as much as the fabric in front of it. A curtain that sticks, sags or screeches is almost always a track problem, not a fabric problem. Cur'tales has installed curtain tracks across Hyderabad since 1998 — straight runs, curved bay-window rails, ceiling-recessed channels and motorised systems — and because we also measure and stitch the curtains, the track and the drape are always specified together, as one system.

We are an authorised dealer of SQU exclusive curtain tracks, and every installation comes with free measurement and a firm itemised quote. Track curtains glide better, hang cleaner and last longer — here is everything you need to choose the right one.

The Honest Comparison

Curtain Track vs Curtain Rod — When Tracks Win

Rods are decorative and great for eyelet curtains. But there are four situations where a track is simply the correct answer.

Bay & Curved Windows

Rods are straight; bay windows are not. A channel curtain track can be factory-bent to follow the exact angles of your bay, so one continuous curtain sweeps around the curve with no gaps, joints or light leaks at the corners.

Ceiling-Mount, Floor-to-Ceiling Look

A ceiling curtain track screws flush into the slab or false ceiling, letting fabric fall ceiling-to-floor in one line. Rooms read taller, windows read grander — the signature look of hotel suites and design-led homes.

Heavy Drapery

Velvets, blackout layers and full-height villa drapes are heavy. Tracks spread that load through rollers and multiple anchor points, while a rod of the same span bows in the middle within months.

Silent, Effortless Glide

Rings scraping along a metal rod is a sound you live with daily. Track rollers glide near-silently with one finger — and a motorised track removes the touch entirely. Once you use one, rods feel agricultural.

Pick Your Class

Track Types We Install

Three classes cover almost every Hyderabad home. Prices below are typical per-window additions over your curtain price — confirm yours on our price calculator or with a free measurement.

Everyday Standard~ +₹350 / window

Aluminium Channel Track

The workhorse: a slim aluminium channel curtain track for cotton, polyester and light linen curtains. Wall or ceiling mounted, smooth nylon rollers, near-invisible behind the heading. The right default for most apartment windows.

Heavy Duty~ +₹600 / window

M-Track (Heavy Drapery)

A reinforced M-profile track with heavier-gauge aluminium and load-rated rollers for M track curtains — velvets, blackout layers, double-layer sheer-plus-drape systems and wide spans that would bend a rod or jam a light channel.

Premium+₹1,200+ / window

Motorised Track

Whisper-quiet tubular motor, soft start and stop, remote/app/voice control, and curtains that close themselves at sunset. Pricing scales with run length and control options — from ₹1,200 per window upwards.

Smart Homes

Motorised Curtain Tracks — Remote, App & Voice

A motorised curtain track Hyderabad homes actually use daily needs three things: a quiet motor, reliable control, and an installer who balances the fabric weight correctly. We set up control your way — handheld remote, phone app with schedules (open at 7 am, close at sunset), or voice through Alexa and Google Home. Touch-and-go is standard: tug the fabric gently and the motor takes over.

Already have tracks? Many existing channel and M-track installations can be retrofitted with a motor kit without replacing the rail — we assess this during the free site visit. For a deeper dive into brands, app pairing and real running costs, read our guide to motorised curtains in Hyderabad.

Mounting Decisions

Ceiling Mount or Wall Mount?

Ceiling Mount

Fixes into the slab or a false-ceiling batten. Curtains run ceiling-to-floor, windows look taller, and the track disappears entirely — especially inside a pelmet box or false-ceiling recess. We use proper anchors for POP and gypsum so the track never works loose.

Wall Mount

Brackets fix above the window frame — the practical choice when the ceiling hides AC ducting or concealed wiring, or when you want the curtain to start just above the frame. Quicker to install and easier to service, with the same glide quality.

Fitted Right, Kept Right

Installation & Maintenance

1

Measure & Specify

We measure the span, check what is inside the ceiling, weigh up the fabric you have chosen and specify the track class — free, at your home.

2

Cut & Bend

Tracks are cut to length and, for bay windows, bent to your exact angles before we arrive — no on-site improvisation.

3

Anchor & Balance

Anchors matched to slab, brick or gypsum; support brackets every 50–60 cm on heavy runs; rollers loaded and the glide balanced end to end.

4

Keep It Gliding

Once a year: wipe the channel clean and use a silicone spray — never oil, which gums up with Hyderabad dust. Worn rollers are replaceable; you never re-buy the track.

Common Questions

Curtain Tracks — FAQ

What is the difference between a curtain track and a rod?

A rod is a visible pole the curtain hangs from on rings or eyelets; a track is a slim channel the curtain glides inside on rollers. Tracks sit flush to the ceiling or wall, disappear behind the fabric, take curves for bay windows, carry heavier drapes and glide near-silently — which is why most premium and motorised installations use tracks.

Do you install motorised curtain tracks in Hyderabad?

Yes. Cur'tales supplies and installs motorised curtain tracks across Hyderabad with remote, app and voice-assistant control. We are an authorised dealer of SQU exclusive track systems, and we can retrofit motors onto many existing track installations. Motorised tracks typically add ₹1,200+ per window — call +91 77992 00133 for a free home visit and firm quote.

What does curtain track installation cost?

On top of your curtain price, a standard aluminium channel track typically adds about ₹350 per window, a heavy-duty M-track for thick drapes about ₹600, and motorised tracks start from ₹1,200 upwards depending on run length and control type. Measurement and the final quote are free; our online price calculator gives a working estimate first.

Can tracks be ceiling mounted?

Yes — ceiling mounting is one of the biggest advantages of tracks. The channel screws directly into the slab or a false-ceiling batten, so curtains fall ceiling-to-floor in one clean line and rooms look taller. We ceiling-mount into POP and gypsum false ceilings using proper anchors, with concealed pelmet boxes where you want the track fully hidden.

Which track is best for heavy curtains?

For heavy velvets, blackout layers and full-height villa drapery, choose a heavy-duty M-track with reinforced rollers or an SQU heavy-load rail — standard light channels sag or stick under that weight. On wide spans we add support brackets every 50-60 cm, and for daily-use heavy drapes a motorised track removes the strain of hand-pulling entirely.
