Eight blind types under one roof — measured at your home, fabricated to the millimetre and installed by our own team. 250+ samples come to your free visit, anywhere in Hyderabad.
Blinds are the precision instruments of window dressing. Where a curtain softens a room, a blind controls it — light by the degree, privacy by the band, heat by the weave. Cur'tales has measured, fabricated and installed window blinds across Hyderabad since 1998, from compact 2BHK study corners to villa balconies and full office floors. Because every window is measured by our own team and every blind is fitted by our own installers, the result sits flush against the frame, glides true and keeps working years after the bill is forgotten.
This page walks through all eight blind types we install — what each one is, the rooms it suits in a Hyderabad home, the typical starting price per square foot and the honest maintenance picture. Treat the prices as typical starting ranges, not quotes: blinds are priced on measured area and mechanism, so the firm figure comes after a free home measurement. Prefer to browse first? The shop page covers curtains and blinds with indicative pricing, and our store at Lanco Hills, Manikonda is open 11 am to 9 pm, every day of the week.
Typical starting range: from ₹110 per sq ft — firm quote after your free measurement.
A roller blind is a single panel of stiffened fabric wound onto an aluminium tube above the glass, operated by a side chain, a spring or a motor. It is the simplest mechanism in window dressing — fewer moving parts than any other blind — which is why it is also the most reliable, the easiest to keep clean and the most installed blind in Hyderabad homes and offices.
Use it almost anywhere. Offices and study rooms get clean, minimal sightlines; kitchens take wipeable polyester rolls that shrug off steam and cooking film; bedrooms use blackout roller fabric to shut down the 6 am glare. For the west-facing high-rise flats around Gachibowli and the IT corridor, solar-screen roller fabric — a tight technical weave — cuts radiant heat and glare while keeping the city view, and it is the single most requested blind we fit in apartment towers.
Maintenance: a weekly pass with a dry microfibre cloth keeps the fabric crisp; never soak it. If a roll ever sticks, do not force it — the clutch is a replaceable part, and our installers swap it in minutes.
Typical starting range: from ₹140 per sq ft — firm quote after your free measurement.
A zebra blind — also sold as a day-night or duplex blind — runs two continuous layers of fabric striped with alternating sheer and opaque bands. Glide the layers until the bands align and the room fills with soft, filtered daylight; offset them by half a band and the blind closes into a private screen. Think of it as a roller blind with a second act.
Zebra blinds answer the most common privacy problem in Hyderabad's apartment clusters: towers that face each other across fifty feet. Living rooms and bedrooms keep their daylight without giving the opposite balcony a view, and the banded pattern reads as a designed feature rather than a compromise. They are also the blind we recommend most for drawing rooms that shift from bright family afternoons to softer evening settings, because the mood changes with one pull of the chain.
Maintenance: dust with a soft brush attachment or a blast of cool air from a hair dryer. Keep water away — the bands are heat-set, and dry care preserves their crisp edges for years.
From ₹3,500 per window, stitched — fabric, mechanism and installation included.
A Roman blind lifts into deep, soft horizontal pleats instead of rolling onto a tube. It is stitched — not extruded — from real drapery fabric over battens, which makes it the most curtain-like blind on this page and the only one that brings genuine textile character to a window: linen texture, woven jacquards, block prints.
Romans belong where you want fabric warmth without floor-length drapes: bedrooms, reading corners, bay windows and design-led living rooms. Because ours are stitched in-house from the same fabric library as our curtains — the 250+ samples that come to your home visit — a Roman blind can pick up the exact fabric of your cushions or bedhead. Weighing a Roman against full curtains for a villa? We wrote an honest comparison: Roman blinds vs curtains in Hyderabad.
Pricing works per window rather than per square foot, because each blind is individually stitched: from ₹3,500 including fabric, stitching, mechanism and installation. Maintenance: a monthly once-over with the vacuum's upholstery brush; the panel unclips for occasional dry cleaning.
Typical starting range: from ₹95 per sq ft — firm quote after your free measurement.
Vertical blinds hang full-height fabric vanes from a headrail track. The vanes rotate through 180 degrees for fine light control and draw fully to one side like a curtain — which makes them the rare blind that genuinely suits very wide openings.
This is the practical answer for broad sliding doors, balcony glass and office glazing. Clinics, studies and the workspaces of the Financial District use them because they cover three-metre spans without the weight or cost penalties of oversized rollers, and the per-square-foot economics stay friendly as the glass gets bigger. In homes, they earn their place on the living-room sliding door to the balcony — open for the breeze, angled against the afternoon sun.
Maintenance: run a microfibre glove down each vane during normal dusting. Individual vanes replace cheaply — a stained or bent vane never means buying a new blind.
Typical starting range: from ₹220 per sq ft — firm quote after your free measurement.
Venetian blinds stack horizontal slats — basswood, faux-wood or aluminium — on cord ladders, tilting in unison for degree-by-degree control of light. Tilt them up and daylight bounces off the ceiling with no glare; tilt down and the room goes dim while air still moves through.
Real basswood brings warm, architectural texture to studies, lounges and home offices — and on video calls, the upward tilt is the cleanest lighting trick there is. For bathrooms and humid utility spaces, choose faux-wood or aluminium: they ignore the moisture that would slowly bow a timber slat. One honest note for Hyderabad: dust shows on slats faster than on fabric, so venetians reward owners who do not mind a tidy weekly routine.
Maintenance: a slat-by-slat wipe with a microfibre glove once a week; keep real wood away from direct water, and let us re-tension the cords when they stretch — it is a five-minute service job, not a replacement.
Typical starting range: from ₹80 per sq ft — firm quote after your free measurement.
PVC blinds are UV-stabilised exterior screens — clear, tinted or bamboo-look — built to live outside. They are less about decorating a window and more about reclaiming a space: the open balcony that Hyderabad's weather keeps taking away from you.
From June to September the monsoon drives rain straight across open balconies; from March to May the western sun makes them unusable after 3 pm; dust fills the months in between. Outdoor PVC blinds close that loop — the plants survive, the seating stays dry, the washing dries without grit — while transparent panels keep the view and the light. We fit them on apartment balconies, semi-open terraces, utility areas and shopfronts, with tie-downs that hold through pre-monsoon gusts.
Maintenance: the easiest on this page — wipe them down or gently hose with soapy water, and have the tie-downs and side channels checked once a year before storm season.

A honeycomb (cellular) blind bonds two pleated fabric layers into a row of hexagonal cells — and the air trapped inside those cells is the whole point. Still air is an insulator, so the blind behaves like double glazing made of fabric: the best thermal performer of any window treatment we install.
Specify it where heat is the enemy: west-facing bedrooms that bake from 4 pm onwards, top-floor flats whose slabs radiate into the night, and air-conditioned rooms where every degree of heat gain shows up on the electricity bill. Homes from Banjara Hills bungalows to Kokapet high-rises use blackout cellular blinds in bedrooms for the double win — darkness plus insulation — and the cell structure also damps street noise more than any flat fabric can.
Honeycomb pricing moves more than any other type with cell size and fabric range — as a working rule it sits between zebra and wooden blinds per square foot, and we would rather measure first and give you the exact figure than print a teaser rate here. Maintenance: vacuum on low suction, never crush the cells flat, and clear dust from inside the cells with cool air.
Motorisation quoted per window over the blind price — working demos at your free visit.
Motorised blinds put a whisper-quiet tubular motor inside the roll or headrail, with control from a handheld remote, a phone app with schedules, or your voice through Alexa and Google Home. Motorisation is available across most of this page — roller, zebra, honeycomb, venetian and vertical systems can all be driven.
Motors earn their keep in three places: windows you cannot reach (double-height living rooms, stairwell glazing, skylights), banks of blinds that should move together (offices, media rooms), and daily-rhythm homes that want the blinds to drop automatically against the 4 pm western sun and rise with the morning. If you are motorising blinds, it is worth planning curtains on the same ecosystem — our motorised curtain tracks page covers that side — so one app runs the whole house.
Motorisation is quoted per window on top of the blind price and scales with the motor brand and control option, so we would rather demo working samples at your free home visit than print a number that turns out wrong for your window. Maintenance: rechargeable lithium motors top up once or twice a year, and quality motors keep a manual override so the blind never strands you.
Neither is "better" — they solve different problems. Here is the short version we give on every home visit.
Precision matters. Blinds win in kitchens and bathrooms (wipe-clean surfaces), offices and studies (exact light control for screens), balconies (weatherproof PVC), wide sliding doors (verticals) and compact rooms where stacked fabric would crowd the wall. They sit inside the window frame, need no floor clearance and meter light by the degree.
Softness matters. Curtains win in bedrooms and living rooms that want full-height fabric, acoustic warmth and the layered sheer-plus-drape look. They make ceilings read taller and rooms feel finished. For bespoke fabric work, trims and full-height drapery, see our luxury curtains page.
Most Hyderabad homes end up with both: blinds in the work rooms and wet rooms, curtains in the soft rooms, and hybrids — a sheer curtain over a blackout roller — where the two meet. For the room-by-room decision in detail, read our guide to Roman blinds vs curtains for Hyderabad homes.

As typical starting ranges: PVC and outdoor balcony blinds from about ₹80 per sq ft, vertical blinds from ₹95, roller blinds from ₹110, zebra day-night blinds from ₹140 and wooden or venetian blinds from ₹220 per sq ft. Fabric Roman blinds are stitched per window, from about ₹3,500. These are starting points, not quotes — the firm figure comes after a free home measurement and depends on fabric, size and mechanism.
PVC outdoor blinds are the standard choice for Hyderabad balconies — they block monsoon rain, dust and the harsh western sun while keeping the space usable year-round, and they start at about ₹80 per sq ft. Transparent and tinted panels preserve the view; bamboo-look PVC adds warmth. For covered balconies used as seating corners, zebra or roller blinds in a UV-stable fabric also work well.
Yes. Cur'tales supplies and installs motorised roller, zebra, honeycomb, venetian and vertical blinds across Hyderabad with remote, app and voice control through Alexa and Google Home. A roller blind is one continuous piece of fabric — it is either down for privacy or up for light. A zebra blind uses two layers of alternating sheer and opaque bands: align the bands and soft daylight filters through; offset them and the blind closes for privacy. Zebra blinds cost a little more — from about ₹140 per sq ft versus ₹110 for rollers — and suit living rooms; rollers in blackout fabric are the better pick for bedrooms and offices.
From confirmation, custom blinds are typically fabricated and installed within 4–7 days, and the installation visit itself takes roughly 30–45 minutes per window. Measurement happens first, on a free home visit anywhere in Hyderabad, and installation is done by our own in-house fitters — no subcontracted crews.
Yes — west-facing rooms take the full force of Hyderabad's afternoon sun, and the right blind makes a measurable difference. Honeycomb cellular blinds insulate best because their air pockets trap heat at the glass; blackout roller blinds and solar-screen fabrics also cut glare and radiant heat sharply. For west-facing balconies and semi-open areas, UV-stabilised PVC blinds are the practical pick.
